Hi! I am so honored to share my story and be the December Client Highlight. I hope I can give some encouragement to anyone who is searching for the right place to belong, no matter what their age or fitness level.

First, a little back story. I just recently turned 46 years old, and I am a mom to five and stepmom to three, ages 12-27. I have been remarried for four years and am constantly running in all directions, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I also work part time, do my best to keep the house somewhat running smooth, and to squeeze in a little workout time when I can. I have always been active, playing sports in middle school, high school, and trying any and every exercise fad out there. I exercise to keep my weight under control, but also to improve my mood and help with stress and anxiety, as well as keep up with my kids’ activities.

During a bible study 3 years ago, I was introduced to this bubbly lady who just exuded God’s love and energy (I was later told this was without even caffeine.) I found out that Angie was a trainer, and I went for a free session. One workout later I was hooked and determined that I would be one of the ladies who could make it through a class without wheezing (did I say I was competitive?). One of the things that I loved most about this first workout was how friendly these ladies were. I am a reserved person who usually takes weeks, even months to warm up to people, but I felt so welcomed this first day, that I decided to come back. I can honestly say, 3 years later I still feel supported and welcomed every time I walk through those doors. I keep coming back because I honestly love these relationships I have developed, that and never having repeated the same workout twice helps.

For two years my fitness journey improved, and I saw massive growth in strength and stamina. However, year three has been a doozy, disrupted by uncontrolled sickness and injury. Last December, our family took a cruise to celebrate Christmas. We had a wonderful time, but I strangely never got my land legs back and was uncontrollably dizzy. For over three months, I went to PT two times a week trying to get the swaying under control. Going from being able to do box jumps on the highest box, to no box at all was extremely discouraging. However, working with the trainers as they customized exercises to my abilities was exactly what I needed, and I was able to continue working out just at a different level. As I was finishing up my balance PT and getting my strength back, the therapist noticed a nagging hip issue that I have had for years. After more doctors’ visits and more PT, I recognized it was time, and I chose to have a total hip replacement on September 23, 2024. If you ever want to feel more loved, have 20 plus ladies circle around you, pray over you and offer you protection before you head off into surgery. I was forced to take two and a half weeks off before I couldn’t stand it anymore, as working out is my relief, my chit chat hour, my happy place. I missed my “family.”

Working out looks different for me now. The trainers work with me to make sure I don’t overdue anything, and currently I focus way more on form than lifting heavy weights or high impact. I appreciate how much thought each trainer gives to every workout to make sure those of us who are just starting, or injured, to those of us who have been there a while can all get a good workout in. No matter your fitness level, there is someone encouraging you and walking besides you.

I just want to thank TTT for everything. I know without a doubt, that had I not been so healthy and strong before getting sick and having a hip replacement, my recoveries would not have gone so smooth. Doctors commented on how therapeutic exercising was and how they put me ahead of the curve as far as recovery went. I couldn’t have done it without TTT and the girls I have met. Three years ago, when I walked into that first workout, I never expected to meet so many wonderful people who would know my kids names, pray for me, become more than just gym buddies. Its been an incredible blessing.
